Ignite philosophy
At Ignite Soccer Academy we use modern coaching techniques based on the USSF and United Soccer Coaches principles to teach our youth athletes to play soccer at the highest level possible. We teach technical fundamentals along with field and tactical awareness in order to offer a holistic approach to learning the game. We believe in creating an environment where young players are free to be creative, learn from their mistakes, develop leadership skills and practice good sportsmanship.
First Touch is Key
Soccer is a fast moving, dynamic game and a player's first touch on the ball is critical. The ability to gain control of the ball, and keep control of the ball under pressure, can give you a significant advantage over your opponent. At Ignite Soccer Academy we work hard on perfecting our first touch in order to gain this advantage, whether in an attacking or a defending situation.
Solid Defending
Strong defending is the responsibility of every single player on the field. Whether referring to principles of 1v1 defending or team defending, making the play predictable for your teammates is the key to winning back possession of the ball. Ignite Soccer Academy coaches believe that every player can become a strong, confident defender in order to minimize our time spent without the ball.
